Greetings fellow members of TWU Local 100 as we are welcoming the year 2011 as your fellow member we plan to form an exploratory new way in planning for a different approach and creative ways in communicating with fellow members we hope you enjoy this personal and new way of sharing the great news of what is happening in our Local 100.
Today we want to bring you news about regarding our upcoming elections of 2012 as members we must be ready and have a strategy to clean house in removal of the communism and cronyism in our TWU Local 100 we believe those two are our shared key goals.
Our objective is to increase the voice of the membership in the Union Hall the other is to determine our advocacy priorities and bringing them forward in more strategic ways. It is time for the Local 100 to go in a fresh new direction and become more bottom up than top down to become more proactive as suppose reactive to be more focused to take the concerns of you the member and make them heard more loudly than ever.
We are a member organization and you collectively are the voice of transportation in New York City we have such exceptional members who do an incredible work but we must do a better work of telling our story – we believe in you above all.
With your wealth of hard work we believe it is critical to all be on board to prepare and share the election of 2012 – members cannot afford to be dormant in the elections of 2012 we need to clean house – we are extending our hand out in reaching to you we want you to be part of moving forward with a new policy we want you to guide us in a solid strategy for the election of 2012.
What does a voice of member mean we must quantify our voice we must bring our issues to the forefront from what is going on currently we can say with full confidence that TWU Local 100 needs to go in a different direction TWU Local 100 represents 38000 members that serves weekly over seven million New Yorkers and represents over 8 billions dollars in operating budget in the New York City this is a strong voice this is voice of transportation this is voice of TWU Local 100.
Our past election has produced questionable leadership we would like you the member to join us we want you to turn up the volume so loud and say you want to be the driver of the issues that are important to the membership we want you to help set the priorities and the tone for our future our jobs.
The overwhelming message of the members should be the need for a plan to secure our jobs and a more favorable climate towards our transportation industry including enhancing our pensions and health care – so how do we intend to drive this agenda  by creating out our own plan.
Our road map is simple the first step is to vote in cleaning the house of communism and cronyism of the current leadership second step is to identify your concerns, priorities and say how you feel and what you think is important with your responses we believe we can head in a fresh different direction than the current one and you will be heard your ideas will be appreciated and accepted.
We will work hard to win you over we will continue to work to meet with you on a one and one setting or a small group meeting with all. We believe we will win you over and you will be heard coupled with the exchange of ideas we believe we will be receptive, attentive and successful in sharing our future you can influence the future and focus much attention based as much as possible on the issues and ideas of the members.
We are excited on your behalf and express thanks to all, we seek your questions and ideas which are welcomed we would like to thank you for this initiative we hope you agree we are increasing the volume and driving the issues indeed being the voice of members of Local 100 we all are looking forward to 2012 thank you for your time and kind attention looking forward to meet you soon.
